ARTS 4349 Medieval Art and Architecture

The course explores the art and architecture form the fourth to the end of the fourteenth century. Selected topics will cover the medieval world from the eastern Mediterranean to western Europe and they may vary from semester to semester. Lectures, readings, and discussions will stress the course's key themes. Primary sources analysis and a research paper will develop communication skills, research techniques, and methods of critical inquiry. Topics will be announced prior to each semester. Course may be repeated for credit.
