MEDI 8121 Cardiovascular
The Cardiovascular module provides an integrated approach to the basic and clinical science concepts related to the cardiovascular system. Students acquire a broad understanding of normal structure and function of the cardiovascular system, including the cardiac cycle, cardiovascular pressures and flows, vessels, valves, nutrients and oxygen delivery. A comprehensive, multidisciplinary overview of pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutic principles related to the cardiovascular system is included. Learning activities include problem and team-based learning in combination with laboratories and self-study. Proposed assessments include discrete point formative and summative activities and exams, laboratory activities and reports, and self-assessment.
