MATH 8397 Directed Study in Mathematics and Statistics
This is an independent study course in mathematics and/or statistics. The course involves individual work on a research topic under the direct supervision of a faculty member. May be taken as a standalone course or as preparation towards dissertation. The course expectations are at the discretion of the instructor. The student is expected to make a presentation at the end of the semester on his or her studies, but the instructor may replace it with other expectations. May be repeated for credit.

Graduate standing and consent of instructor or program director.
