MECE 6314 Intermediate Aerodynamics
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles and forces governing the science of flight. Students will explore core aerodynamic concepts, including airfoil theory, wing design, fluid mechanics, high-speed airflow, and flight stability and control. Emphasis is placed on analyzing and predicting the behavior of aircraft and aerodynamic components. Students will apply concepts through practical exercises, computational simulations, and hands-on projects. Graduate students will pursue advanced analysis culminating in a research paper and presentation on a specialized aerodynamic topic. By the end of the course, students will be able to design, evaluate, and critique aerodynamic systems for aerospace applications.
