MECE 6355 Advanced Alloys for Defense Manufacturing

Students will analyze recent advancements in metallurgy and materials science to evaluate their impact on weight reduction and performance in aerospace, defense, and automotive applications. Learners will examine modern manufacturing methods such as additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing, along with their applications in advanced system design. The course also covers the development, properties, and performance of advanced alloys, including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel.
