GSST 3322 Technology & Global Security

This course examines how technological innovation shapes war, security, and global systems. Students will analyze historical and contemporary shifts, from gunpowder to AI, evaluating how states and non-state actors adapt and influence technological revolutions. Through case studies, students will apply critical thinking to assess political, economic, and social drivers of change, and formulate policy-relevant perspectives on emerging technologies such as cyber warfare, space systems, and biotechnology. Students will develop the ability to evaluate security implications and create informed strategies for global stability and cooperation.
