GSST 4306 Intelligence & Decision Making
This course examines the Intelligence Cycle and its role in shaping national security and foreign policy. Students will analyze each phase, from requirements and collection to analysis and dissemination, while evaluating methodologies and the impact of cognitive biases on judgment. The course emphasizes assessing the relationship between intelligence producers and policy makers, addressing issues of politicization, accountability, and integration into decision-making. Through case studies of successes and failures, students will critique intelligence practices and apply strategic thinking to develop informed approaches for military planning, crisis response, and policy formulation.
