GSST 4321 Transnational Security Issues
This course evaluates transnational security issues that challenge traditional state-centric approaches. Students will analyze interconnected threats, including organized crime, illicit trafficking, pandemics, and resource scarcity, and assess their implications for governance and stability. The course emphasizes comparing state, international, and non-state responses, critiquing policy effectiveness, and synthesizing strategies for complex global threats. Through discussions, case studies, and simulations, students will apply critical thinking and policy analysis to develop informed solutions for evolving security challenges.
