SOCW 3317 Social Work in Complex Social Environments
This course examines the varied dimensions of human identity such as race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic background, ability, religion, and how these factors influence individual and group experiences. Students will explore how historical and contemporary social structures affect access to resources and opportunities, particularly for underrepresented populations. Through case studies, discussions, and reflective exercises, students will strengthen their ability to engage ethically and effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Emphasis is placed on developing professional awareness, critical thinking, and culturally responsive approaches to social work practice.

Admission into the School of Social Work.
