PHTH 8260 Health Promotion and Wellness

Health Promotion emphasizes the discussion and application of elements of health and wellness during the process of examination, evaluation, and intervention. Elements of physical activity, nutrition, medical/complementary strategies, and behaviors/risk factors modification are included. The national strategy for improving American health is discussed in the context of expanding physical therapists’ role in health promotion through teaching and learning strategies to help patients/clients redesign their lifestyles.
