This course introduces research and evidence-based practice principles. Research topics focus on concepts of research design and methodology and the protection of human subjects. In addition, students will develop the knowledge and skills to become evidence-based practitioners through the formulation of clinical questions, the performance of literature searches, and critical appraisal of evidence with an emphasis on clinical decision-making. Working in small groups and under the direction and supervision of a committee of faculty members, students will begin work on a clinically relevant research project.
