PHTH 8362 Principles of Therapeutic Exercise

This course provides learning and understanding of the physiological mechanisms occurring in various body systems that allow individuals to engage in physical activity and how these systems are altered by activity, disease, or disuse. Students practice the application of these principles to exercise testing and prescription that focuses on restoring and maintaining strength, endurance, flexibility, stability, and balance. Emphasis will be placed on principles guiding the prescription and advancement of exercise interventions.
