PHTH 8413 Management of Patients with Musculoskeletal Disorders II

This course includes a discussion of the biomechanics, kinesiology, motor control, and clinical disorders of the spine. This course will help prepare students to apply evidenced-based practice in the management of patients with spinal disorders through the use of treatment-based classification systems to guide clinical decision-making for patients with mechanical neck and back pain. Emphasis will be placed on practicing palpation skills, performing clinical tests, and the application of therapeutic treatment techniques that include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and patient education on real or simulated patients in a clinical laboratory setting.
