HGEN 8305 Genetic Basis of Human Disease

This course provides an overview of human genetics, emphasizing the relationship between human genetic variation and disease. The molecular, cellular, and biochemical bases of disease will be examined from a modern genetic perspective.  The chromosomal, genomic, mitochondrial genome and epigenetic effects on disease will be discussed.  Monogenic and multifactorial diseases with genetic components will be covered.
