HGEN 8370 Advanced Topics in Animal Models for Human Disease

This course will cover past contributions of animal models to the prevention and treatment of human diseases, the rationale for the continuing use of animal models, alternatives to the use of animal models, conventional and non-conventional animal models, selection of animal models in relation to the aspect of the disease being modeled, appropriate experimental design, and the ethical care and use of animals in biomedical research. May be repeated for credit when the topic varies.
