HGEN 8360 Advanced Topics in Population Genetics

This course will focus on the theory, methods, and applications of modern human population genetics. Mathematical models of gene frequency variation and the dynamics of gene frequency variation in human populations will be examined. The generation, maintenance, and patterns of genetic variation within and between populations will be an underlying focal topic. Other topics include the study of human population structure, anthropological genetics, and kinship inference. May be repeated for credit when the topic varies.
