HGEN 8375 Stem Cell Based Methodologies in Human Disease Gene Identification

This course will cover current stem cell-based approaches in human disease modeling and disease gene identification. Topics covered will include stem cell generation including induced pluripotent stem cell reprogramming, differentiation of stem cells into disease-relevant target cells, stem cell-based experimental designs to understand disease genetics, identification and analysis of disease-relevant cellular phenotypes, high throughput and genome-wide cellular phenotyping technologies, and approaches to identify and validate disease genes.
