SOCW 6340 Advanced Community and Organizational Practice

This course provides an in-depth exploration of theories and advanced strategies for effective community and organizational practice in social work. Students will examine the dynamics of community engagement and anti-racism, organizational development, and social change, focusing on how to mobilize resources and foster collaborative partnerships. Emphasizing a strengths-based, inclusive, equitable, and culturally competent approach, the course will cover topics such as community needs assessment, program development, evaluation, and advocacy. Through case studies, group projects, and experiential learning, students will develop the skills necessary to lead initiatives that enhance community well-being and promote social justice.
