SOCW 6371 Generalist Field Education II
This course is the second part of a year-long class required of all MSW students completing their foundation level field internship. The course combines guided discussion, personal reflection and peer feedback in a small group format as a means for students to integrate social work theory, practice, social welfare policy, human behavior in the social environment, and research in real world experiences. This course begins the student’s journey to becoming a professional social worker by developing competencies through the use of reflection and feedback. The course uses ethics as a framework for developing practice behavior skills at the Foundation Level. The students will apply foundational anti-racist concepts and other forms of anti-oppressive concepts in their field placement.
