SOCW 6381 Applied Social Work Research
This course focuses on the principles and methods of research within the field of social work, emphasizing practical application and real-world relevance. Students will learn to design, implement, and evaluate research projects that address critical social issues and inform practice. The course covers multiple research methods, ethical considerations, data analysis, and the interpretation of findings. In this course, students will practice critical thinking applied in literature synthesis and research question generation, and interpretation of findings. Through hands-on projects and collaboration with community organizations, students will develop skills in evidence-based practice, increase literacy and information searching strategies, enhancing their ability to contribute to the body of knowledge in social work and advocate for effective interventions.
